Mike Hancock supports the IFAW Election Manifesto

24 March 2010

Mike Hancock MP has worked extensively on animal rights issues over the years and is backing IFAW's Election Manifesto.

Having worked closely with IFAW over the years, Mike is proud to back IFAWs Election Manifesto.

Mike said, "From the big game on the planes in Africa, to the whales that are hunted around the world, to our humble British fox, animals all over the world are lacking a voice in the coming election. They have no vote to cast and it is up to us to say ‘enough' - enough needless cruelty and suffering, enough unnecessary hunting, and enough thoughtless abuse of animals. When we cast our ballots, we have the opportunity to change the way our Government treats wildlife and to pressure them to give more attention to animal welfare. Animal welfare is an important topic to me and I will continue to campaign on the related issues."

Commenting, Stephen Williams said:

“This is a very popular idea which would give the public something back for bailing out the banks.

“I welcome the Treasury Select Committee’s review into what to do with the Government’s holding in RBS and Lloyds and hope that it furthers the case for giving the public their share.”
