New Enterprise Zone Welcome - But Just One Step of Many Needed
Portsmouth's Economic Development Csar Mike Hanocok MP has welcomed the creation of a new enterprise zone for the Daedalus site in Gosport but said the Government needs to do much more to improve infrastructure and to create jobs in the Portsmouth Region.
"I am pleased that the Government has made this commitment to South East Hampshire," commented Mike, "along with the opening of the Hindhead tunnel it will support the economy of the area. However, the Government needs to continue to investment in the area's infrastructure to help business thrive and grow here, and to make the new zone a success."
Under Lib Dem leadership Portsmouth City Council continues to invest in infrastructure and to support job creation. "We need the Government to continue investing as well. We will need to see the creation of private sector jobs if we are to see unemployment to continue to fall here."
