Hancock Urges Lansley to Release NHS Risk Report
Mike Hancock (MP for Portsmouth South) today urged Secretary of State for Health, Andrew Lansley, to publish the NHS Risk Report which the Information Commissioner has now asked for.
Mike said today, "The public deserve to be told about this. I was under the impression that the Coalition Government was one with a greater focus on transparency than previous administrations and this kind of information should not have to be forced out from the Secretary of State."
The future of the NHS is currently being discussed during debate in the House of Lords, making the publication of the report all the more important. In a letter written today to the Department of Health Mike wrote, 'Clearly, this report has a direct relevance to current NHS debates taking place in the House of Lords. As such I would urge you to publish the report at the earliest possible opportunity to ensure its inclusion in these important debates.'
