Veterans Lapel Badge
February 2007
Men and women who served in the British armed forces before or during World War II are entitled to a veterans lapel badge. These include those who served in the Cyprus Regiment, the Home Guard or Polish Forces under UK command.
Those who enlisted in the armed forces after World War II up until 31st December 1969 are also entitled to a Veterans Badge. There is no qualifying length of Service.
Regettably the badge cannot be issued posthumously. The badge is a survivor's badge, which is to be worn on civilian attire. The only exceptions are War Widows and Widowers who are in receipt of War Widows/War Widowers Pension by Veterans Agency.
The Ministry of Defence says it is the aim, eventually, to include all those who served in HM armed forces, however the demand of the badge to continue to be high. I will be campaigning for this to be done as soon as possible.
If you would like me to send you a form to apply for a badge, please email me by clicking here: email me with your name, phone number and full postal address.
